The British Premier of SOLARIS a new play
Showing at The Courtyard Theatre, Bowling Green Walk, Old Street
14th November to 8th December
Tickets available at http://www.ticketweb.co.uk
Adapted for Stage by Dimitri Devdariani
Stanislaw Lem was a Polish Science Fiction writer writing mainly in the
60′s and 70′s. He is a national hero in Poland.
There have been two films made of “Solaris”, one by Russian director
Andrei Tarkovski in 1972 and more recently by George Clooney in 2004.
To my knowledge it has only been performed on stage once in Berlin in 2002,
so this will be the UK stage premier.
We are a group of enthusiastic artists who are determined to create
and show this play in a way that will reach people and speak to them.
Please help us. We believe this is an important piece of literature that will
appeal to a wide audience. It is a love story and deals with impossible concepts
like the shape of God. It also takes a long hard look at the human condition
and our almost unerring desire to repeat mistakes over and over.
We trap ourselves in our behavioural patterns and all we need do to set ourselves free
is to chose something different.
Would it be different if you could do it all again?
